Diane & Carolien's Weekly Challenge #3 hosted by Diane Clancy & Carolien aka Zandipants: This week we are to use the tangles beginning with the letters G, H, & I - your choice. Diane & Carolien's Weekly Challenge
This week I have two entries (unbelievable for me). For the first, my tangles of choice: Gnarly, Henna, a flower Inapod and a variation of Telis. I have enjoyed the alphabet challenges. It is nice to be able to choose the tangles and also, I have learned so many new tangles from all the participants' beautiful entries.
Confession: several "mistakes" were made on this one; the sparkles (highlights) in the Inapod flower - I did not pay attention to where they were being placed and it looked a bit strange. I darkened that part, which, now - really makes it stand out? Oh well. I have to decide whether or not to soften it with white ink highlights...
Here is entry #1:
Tangles: Gnarly, Henna, Inapod,
& variation of Telis
Free-form Telis variation inspired by Lynell Harlow (dreamweaverstencils.com)
Tangles:
Gnarly - Barbara Finwall
Henna - Jane MacKugler, CZT
Inapod - Carol Ohl, CZT
Telis - Chrissie Frampton
For the 2nd entry, I had tangles put aside for different projects - all that I have not yet tried. They fit with the G-H-I challenge, so I went for it. Instead of doing monotangles (my favorite), I decided to use Bijou as the string and used 3 monotangles on the tile (maybe not original...). Gottago just came out this past week and her description of how the name came about just made me laugh, so I knew I had to use that one; Holly - I will use this coming winter/Christmas; and Itsy Twisty is quite adorable (another festive tangle)!

Gottago - Lianne Woods, CZT
Holly - Linda Dawson
Itsy Twisty - Diane Sexton (Just a note...as I looked at Diane's example tiles, I noticed that she, too, used Telis as a free-form variation).

ReplyDeleteBoth tiles are very nice! I used henna drum as well and am enjoying your fresh take on it tremendously. It's so much fun to see what everyone comes up with.
ReplyDeleteHi Jodi, thank you so much. I saw that you used Henna drum, and loved your tile. For some reason I could not leave a comment. I agree, I love all the variations.
