After researching labyrinths, I came across the Labyrinth Society and learned that this Saturday, May 2, 2015 is World Labyrinth Day. Labyrinth Society
What timing on the Diva's part.
I traced the above template, prepared a border, and then proceeded to tangle it. Although it is frowned upon, but knowing my limitations, I used a pencil and ruler for the border. When using the pen, I did not use the ruler, but I did need the penciled-in guidelines.
This took much longer than I thought. This was my second try. With the first attempt, I used several tangles, made several errors, and did not like the way it looked. Not wanting to make the same mistake again, and due to a time constraint, I opted to use only one tangle in the labyrinth. As it turns out, I think it highlights the labyrinth. So this is it! I may have to experiment with this at a later date? I am looking forward to seeing all the entries.
Here is my entry for Diva Challenge #215:

ReplyDeleteThank you Ilse. I appreciate your gracious comments.
DeletePurk as a border takes my breath away! what creativity and I agree about the use of one pattern enhancing the labyrinth. which, btw, that labyrinth is elegant all on its own. Good choices!
ReplyDeleteThank you HeidiSue. I really appreciate your lovely comments, since Purk took me awhile to finish.
DeleteThank you everyone for your comments. I cannot tell you how grateful I am, especially since I was so hesitant to post this piece! You have all made my week!

DeleteVery nice tile- I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me to "KISS" : keep it smart and simple...
Well done!
Thank you for stopping by and for your comments. I love your interpretation of "KISS" - using "smart" - that is one I will use! :)
DeleteNever have seen these tangles used before. You did a nice job navigating this challenge! Sarah.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah for your lovely comment. So glad you stopped by.
DeleteI never would have thought of using purk as a border...really well done! And your labyrinth drawing is easy to follow too...my first attempt got way too muddy, so keeping things simple is a good philosophy for this challenge.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynell. My first attempt was a bit much also. Thank you for visiting and commenting. It is always appreciated.
DeleteI love your labyrinth and the purk border. It looks fabulous as a border. The labyrinth itself is beautiful in it's simplicity and with the tangled edge to it, it is perfect....simple and beautiful and contemplative. Just like a labyrinth should be.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. I appreciate your kind comments and thoughts on labyrinths. I learned a quite a bit from this challenge.
DeleteGreat job on your labyrinth!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteWhat a complex labyrinth - and the uncluttered tangles really set it off - nice!! :)
