This month's challenge is to use Cadent & Buttercup either by:
1. Using a tangle in a tangle
2. Combining elements, or
3. Merging tangles
When I first started tangling, Cadent immediately became one of my favorite tangles, along with the numerous variations that have surfaced. (Margaret Bremner, CZT shared wonderful Cadent variations, which was my inspiration for one of the Zendala dares and also for this challenge).
My dilemma with this challenge is that on October, 2014, I came across Shasta (where Cadent meets Buttercup), by Gael Shepherd and have been using it since. This tangleation (Zentangle Glossary) is appropriate for this month's challenge, and although I did not come up with it, I would like to share two of my tiles with you. I think this variation is quite lovely and I am using it in a project of mine. This would conform to #2-Combining elements:
Shasta Shasta with aura
Tangles: Buttercup with Cadent variation
I really enjoyed this challenge and hope to spend more time with these two tangles, (as I just noticed something). To be continued...?lol Sorry for the long post.
Update 2/8/15: I
found and contacted Gael Shepherd re: Shasta. She does not have a blog or link that I can
share. I originally found her pattern on
the Wacky Zentangle Weekly Challenges Facebook group (October, 2014) – (it took
me a bit to remember). She has a photo
of the step-outs there. (Sorry).
Thank you for visiting and thank you to those who have taken the time
to leave a
comment. Your comments are always appreciated! Have a great week full of
relaxing and peaceful tangling. Cheers.
