This month's-oops July's Muster Mixer Challenge #8 uses the tangles Florez by Cookie and Vano by Hanneke Sieben. Here is the link: Muster Mixer #8
I have not tried these tangles, so I decided to do monotangles first (always a favorite of mine), then attempted the Muster Mixer. I would like to share my process:
Florez (not really a monotangle, more of a dry run for me):
Notice in the first row I kept reverting to a more 'NZeppel-like form, which this is sort of a variation, and a tangle I use frequently. (See Tangle Patterns) In the 2nd and 3rd rows I kept my lines thin (did not darken too much as is indicated) and tightened the space between the angles. In the third row I just tried a few variations in the center.
My version of Vano: Circles are a challenge to me. I find that if I draw the smaller, inner circle first, then the lines, and then create arcs in between the lines, I can manage to create something resembling a circle.
Monotangle: Vano
Both tangles can be found at tanglepatterns.com.
Here is my entry for Muster Mixer Challenge #8 - "a tangle in a tangle":
I am looking forward to seeing your creations. I have to catch up on a few past Muster Mixer's and then I will be sure to visit!
